Welcome to the Creative Club!
Welcome to the club! We are happy to have you here.
The whole purpose of this club is build a safe environment for all walks of life to create for the sake of creating. In a time and space where you can monetize any creativity you have; sometimes you just want to create for fun. Not everything needs to monetized or turned into a hustle.
Over the years of working in the creative space; the endless journey of looking for and securing jobs, having to always look for money, and turn your creative passion into a career can be quite daunting. It can turn what you love to do into a chore. It can take the innocence out of your creativity. It can make you want to quit creating.
I want to turn those tides and switch back to a summer camp kind of energy. A space where we only give y’all a prompt and you create whatever you like with that prompt. You can take a few hours of your day to create or you can do it over a longer stretch of time. It doesn’t really matter, as long as you’re having fun with it. It’s time to play, not work.
No one is judging your project. No one is going to see it if you don’t want to put it out there. Just create because you want to have fun. Get back into that childlike innocence of not having to worry about turning your creativity into a job. Let’s just play with our creativity, not capitalize on it.
Through these future challenges, allow yourself to explore and experiment. Do something you have never attempted to do. Change your angle. Switch mediums. Have that childlike curiosity to just start cutting things out, put something together, and see where you end up.
These challenges are meant to be a change of pace within your routine. To give you something else to do that you might’ve never have done otherwise.
What you do with the project you create from these challenges is completely up to you. You get to build the purpose of the project, we will just give you the prompt.
If you want to use these challenges to create portfolio pieces, go for it. If you want to use these challenges to learn a new technique, go for it. If you want to use these challenges to just get back into recreational creating, go for it. As long as you are having fun with it and progressing, that’s all we could ever ask for.
With all of that said. We will begin pushing out challenges next month.
Much love,
Troy
